The Slicom family group was created by Thierry ONDET who is the principal shareholder.
1995: Creation of SLICOM (Engineering Industry Laser Sandblasting)
Thierry Ondet sells his food trading business to embark upon an industrial venture. He sets up an industrial capital goods maintenance unit in Clermont-Ferrand under the name of Slicom. With Michelin and Aubert & Duval as its first customers, the company develops rapidly thanks to the expansion of its know-how which leads to the creation of special purpose machines.
2000: Creation of SECCMAS in the aeronautics sector
The first diversification with the creation of Seccmas (research and construction in metal work and mechanics in the aeronautics and space industry). This unit specialising in metal work, machining, assembly and maintenance of aircraft structures is set up at the end of 2001 on the new industrial zone to the south of the Clermont-Ferrand-Auvergne airport.
2004: Aeronautics Acquisition
DACAR, an Auxerre-based aeronautical engineering company, is taken over and called SM2A (aeronautical and space engineering company). With this acquisition, the group extends its aeronautics offer to the manufacture of mechanical sub-assemblies and surface treatment.

With VINCI Energies Rhône Alpes-Auvergne as an equal shareholder, ISI (industrial integration and solutions) is created to provide comprehensive facility management, from design to commissioning.
Takeover of the Taillandier Ingénierie design office which was integrated into ISI in 2008.

The group gradually asserts its international dimension by the location of its customers (Europe, North America and Asia) and by the implementation of alliances that enable it to operate in emerging countries, particularly India where a project organization is opened in Bangalore to build up a network of subcontractors
2007: Structuring the Slicom group
Creation of the Slicom International holding company containing the group’s management and support services.
Creation of the company Slicom Aéro, resulting from the Merger of the two aeronautical companies SECCMAS and SM2A.

2008: Establishing sites in India and Tunisia
The Tunisian company SAT Industrie is created and a 2,000 m2 industrial workshop is opened in an industrial area of Tunis to extend the aeronautical machining and sheet-metal activities.
The subsidiary ISI creates the Indian branch 2IS. The Bangalore-based unit is in charge of monitoring local production and local commercial relations on behalf of the group’s different divisions.
2008: Acquisition in aeronautical services
Acquisition of the aeronautic assets management company AIRSET, with a view to expanding the aeronautics offering and moving towards a comprehensive service in aircraft maintenance and retrofitting.
2009: Acquisition in hydropower
Via its subsidiary ISI, the group offers to buy the assets of the company H3E and the brand AQUALIENNE under which the latter designs and develops hydroelectric eco-turbines. This acquisition is in line with its strategy to diversify into the energy market.
